At the age of four, my first plane ride took me from Houston, Texas to the wild hills of Donegal in Ireland where I met my father's family, the O'Donnells. No leprechauns were sighted, but it was a magical experience all the same, full of castles, donkeys, great storytelling and an unforgettable Irish welcome.

While a history major at Bryn Mawr, my passion for art, literature and design led me to spend a semester in Florence, where I fell in love the Italian dolce vita and great food and wine. My husband John’s hobby is ocean liners, so together we’ve explored small and large ship cruising, enjoying such classic voyages as the Alaskan inside passage, and the transatlantic crossing. Our two sons are now college-age, but they’ve traveled with us since they were toddlers. I understand the challenge of planning hands-on experiences for active families.

As a Virtuoso agent for over 10 years, it has been my great joy to share my first-class contacts and extensive travel experience with my clients. Everywhere I travel, I think about my clients. Would they love this hotel? Is it walkable? Did I discover a charming restaurant around the corner, a landmark museum or a noteworthy artisan? And just what is it that makes this destination worth the trip?

Istanbul to Athens Cruise, with a Finale in Munich
It was a great honor to serve as a Virtuoso Voyages host onboard the Silversea Silver Spirit from Istanbul to Athens in June. The sun-filled days in Ephesus, Rhodes, Crete, Santorini, Mykonos and Athens were perfect. Silversea offers an inviting combination of European cuisine and butler service.

Paris, Milan, Florence -- and a Mediterranean Cruise
A rail journey between Paris, Milan and Florence preceded a Rome sail-away aboard the stylish Seabourn Sojourn in April. We hiked the Cinque Terre and the coast of Menorca, perused Napoleon's birthplace in Corsica and were bowled over by the beauty of Valencia.

Flanders --World War I Battlefields and Worldly Pleasures
Flanders is an unexpected jewel, easily reached from the East Coast. Not to be missed are the Tin Tin art in Brussels, Antwerp's Rubens museum, and the unbelievable chocolates and beers of Belgium. The WWI battlefields are a somber reminder of the cost of war.

Glorious Lake Como and the Peaks of Switzerland
We celebrated a special family birthday with a week in a villa on Lake Como. Our days were spent ferry-hopping, hiking, swimming, exploring and enjoying the cuisine of Chef Luigi. A week of rail travel and hiking in Jungfraujoch and Lucerne was the perfect follow-up.

A Baltic Cruise Aboard the Eurodam
We love to gather siblings and cousins in the summer for an unforgettable trip. This journey was in the Baltic, sailing from Copenhagen aboard Holland America's Eurodam. The highlight for me was St. Petersburg, and seeing Peterhof and Katherine's Palace in Pushkin. It was daylight until midnight.

Half Moon, Montego Bay, Jamaica
What better way to escape winter than with a quick nonstop flight to Montego Bay and a relaxing stay in the oceanfront suites and villas of Half Moon Bay. I'll never forget our dolphin swim, or my first zip line excursion, and the warm Jamaican welcome.
