Travel Experts, a top five Virtuoso agency, announced the 2011 recipients of the Travel Experts Diamond Award. This honor recognizes Independent Contractors and staff who have been affiliates of Travel Experts for 10 years or more. This is the first year the award will be given out, so in addition to the seven 10-year awardees, Travel Experts will also recognize awardees that have been with Travel Experts for more than 10 years, including five with tenure of 15 years or more. Between all of the recipients, they boast more than 300 cumulative years dedicated to Travel Experts as their host agency of choice.

TOURISM CARES FOR AMERICA - MYSTIC, CT

On May 6, 2011, Heather McIntyre of Travel Experts participated in the
Tourism Cares for America event in Mystic, CT. All in all, the 400+ volunteers representing 14 7 companies located in 27 states and 3 countries came together to help with the renovation and preservation. In one day, they completed more than 1 mile of fence painting, using approximately 135
gallons of paint, 30 additional paint projects on the historic buildings and sailing vessels, including the entire hull of the Joseph Conrad, major landscaping projects utilizing 50 cubic yards of mulch as well as spreading hundreds of pounds of crushed oyster shells through the property, and the relocation of hundreds of artifacts to a new location in the museum's archives.
Tourism Cares is the philanthropy of several travel-related associations and
they coordinate two projects like this around the US every year. This was
Heather's fourth event with TCFA.
