Becky Craft

As a former marketing and public relations professional, I helped local, regional and national companies achieve their goals. So it was important to me that I offered my clients a distinctive approach to realizing their travel goals when I formed my own travel company over 20 years ago.

The simple solution was to share a philosophy and style I followed when designing my own travels: to engage with other cultures and peoples in ways that go beyond the superficial, to seek out experiences that bring new meaning and dimension, and to never stop learning or having fun!

"Unique Journeys for Curious Travelers" is not just my slogan -it is a pledge to you. To collaborate with you to create meaningful, hand crafted experiences for a weekend away or a trip of a lifetime. My passion for travel, first-hand insights and personal contacts developed over decades ensure your satisfaction.

I also enjoy connecting people with similar interests via custom small group adventures that I annually lead to worldwide destinations. Whether it's tasting high altitude wines in Argentina's Salta region, tracking leopards on safari in Africa, seeing the opera Turandot performed on its original site in the Forbidden City or walking through private English gardens with a leading horticultural expert, these exclusive journeys for 8-14 people are intimate, flexible and popular for solo travelers, couples or families alike.

Let me add that special lagniappe (a little something extra - as we say in Louisiana) to your next adventure!

  • Sunrise in the Antarctic
  • Pole fisherman near Galle, Sri Lanka
  • In Burgundy's famous vineyard's (wine travel is my specialty) with Burgundy expert, author and Master of Wine, Clive Coates
  • A journey to northern Vietnam was an opportunity to meet with members of the various hllltribe peoples (me with Red Dao women)
  • Petra's famous Treasury building is reached by walking down a long, winding canyon path
  • Guide, Kuenley Dorjee (on my left), made our custom two-week trip to Bhutan a very special experience
  • A meeting I planned for a state engineers association allowed me to see work in progress to widen the Panama Canal
  • You can never have enough pictures of leopards in the wild (Lion Sands Ivory Lodge, Sabi Sands, South Africa)
  • The view from my hotel in Cafayete, Argentina located in the high altitude Salta region
  • A river cruise on Aqua Expeditions in the Peruvian Amazon is a must for nature lovers
  • On safari in South Africa with my husband Michael. Singita's Boulders and Ebony Lodge are fabulous!
  • The view from my favorite tropical boutique retreat. With only 5 guest cottages, I'm trying to keep it a secret!
  • Temple in Chettinad, India
  • Up close and personal with a Giraffe!

When people ask me what my favorite destination is, Africa is always my answer! I recently returned from a 3 week trip to Kenya to experience a variety of lodges in reserves I had not visited on past trips, and also welcomed 8 of my clients who joined me for a two week custom safari I designed with the help of Micato Safaris.. Our itinerary included stays in lodges south and north of the equator - which is key to being able to see the widest variety of game viewing. First time safari goers may not realize that there is a different type of zebra, giraffe, and ostrich north of the equator for example. One of my favorite paces we stayed is Lewa Wilderness in Laikipia. This privately owned reserve is a leader in conservation efforts and has a large population of black and white rhino. Guests can do atypical safari experiences as well - camel riding, horseback riding and even take a 2 day walking safari staying overnight in the bush. Or, how about taking a bi-plane flight over the reserve for a vintage “out of Africa” type experience? This lodge, and the activities they have, are a nice break from the typical safari routine. Great for families as well.

This 7-day river cruise is a great way to get into the holiday spirit and avoid the crowds on the Rhine in the summer and fall! My husband and I went in mid-December and the weather was pleasant in the 40’s, just cold enough that the hot chocolate and wine/cider at the Christmas markets were a welcome treat. Besides the beautiful Rhine scenery and castles, the stops at quaint towns in Germany and France were enhanced with large outdoor Christmas markets selling handmade arts and crafts, local food specialties, Christmas decor, and more. Strolling through the markets with Christmas carols playing was a big plus to this cruise!

Each time I visit India I appreciate more as a destination that is a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, smells. It is a feast for the senses. This custom trip included stays at some of India’s best hotels, like the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, taking part in the annual camel fair in Pushkar, and enjoying the spectacular temple architecture in Southern India in Chettinad.

This was my second trip to the country and I am very enthused about Sri Lanka and what it can deliver for my clients. In two weeks, this destination gives a traveler a fabulous food experience, visits to ancient archeological sites, excellent hotels that reflect a sense of place, beautiful beaches, and cultural experiences that rival anywhere. My favorite memories are looking out at the tea fields from my perch at Relais and Chateau Tea Trails lodge, taking a seaplane from the tea country to Galle in the south, bike riding through rice paddy fields, and learning about all the spices grown there and the role this played throughout their history.
